CTET 2018: CBSE To Hold CTET On September 16, Registration From June 22 At ctet.nic.in

The Central Board of Secondary Education is going to conduct the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) on September 16 in around 92 cities across the country. As per a notification released by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), the notification for Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) will be released on 12th June 2018.

The online application process will begin from June 22. The candidates can apply online till July 17, and the application fees window will be opened till July 21. The candidates have to submit their application fees before 3:30 PM. The examination will be conducted in and around 92 cities across the country.

As per RTE Act, it is mandatory for candidates to be CTET Qualified to be able to apply for Central Government and State Government Schools. Besides government schools, private schools in India too give preference to CTET or State TET qualified teachers.

CTET 2018: Exam pattern

The CTET exam has two papers. Paper I is for those interested in teaching classes 1 to 5. Paper II is for those who wish to teach classes 6 to 8. In case an applicant wants to teach both levels, they will be required to sit for both paper I and II.

All questions in the CTET test are multiple choice questions. There is no negative marking.

Application Fee:

  • General/OBC category: Rs 600 for one paper and Rs 1000 for both paper I and paper II.
  • SC/ST/Differently-abled category: Rs 300 for one paper and Rs 500 for both the papers.

CTET 2018: Important Dates

  • Detailed Notification to be Released : 12th June 2018
  • Online Application Process Begins : 22nd June 2018
  • Online Application Process Ends : 21st July 2018
  • CTET 2018 Examination Date : 16th September 2018, 3:30PM

Educational Qualification: 

The eligibility Criteria is different for selecting candidates to the post of Teacher for Classes I-V and for Classes VI-VIII.

a) Educational Qualification for Classes I-V:

  • A candidate who has completed Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam with minimum 50% marks and cleared or appearing in final year exam of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration) OR
  • A candidate who has completed Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam securing minimum 45% marks and has cleared or appearing in final year exam of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration), according to the NCTE Regulations 2002. OR
  • A candidate who has completed Senior Secondary or its equivalent test with minimum 50% marks and has cleared or appearing in final year exam of Bachelor of Elementary Education (4 years duration).OR
  • A candidate who has completed Senior Secondary or its equivalent test with minimum 50% marks and has cleared or appearing in final year exam of Diploma in Education (2 years duration). OR
  • A candidate who has Bachelor’s degree and has cleared or appearing in final year exam of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration).

b) Educational Qualification for Classes VI-VIII:

  • A candidate who holds a Graduation degree and has passed or is appearing in final year examination of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration). OR
  • A candidate who has completed his/her Graduation degree with 50% marks and has cleared or appearing in final year exam of Bachelor in Education. OR
  • A candidate who has completed his/her Graduation degree with 40% marks and has cleared or appearing in final year exam of Bachelor in Education, according to NCTE regulations. OR
  • A candidate who has completed Senior Secondary or its equivalent test with minimum 50% marks and has cleared or appearing in final year exam of 4 years duration Bachelor of Elementary Education. OR
  • A candidate who has completed Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam with 50% marks and cleared or appearing in final year exam of B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed or B.A/B.Sc.Ed. OR
  • A candidate who has Graduation degree with 50% marks and has cleared or appearing in B.Ed program of 1 year duration.
